one of things ticked off the list:

heres my cavy V6 with some 17inch Wolfrace 5 spoke alloys, i refurbed in silver + anthracite:

they look better in real life on the car than now. will look better once the cav's been lowered by 30-40mm, resprayed the brake calipers, and got my grooved + drilled brake discs + EBC Greenstuff pads on it.

she's off down a bodyshop tomorow to get the inlet manifold + throttle body sprayed, and some Vectra metal rocker covers sprayed and fitted, oh and a new gearbox mount fitted aswell. should be good once its done!

nice one dave. lowering will make a difference. what route you going? eibach? im yet to get stuck into my v6, although i'll be doing smaller bits to begin with then saving hard for a full restoration and rebuild at some point in the near future. i'm looking at your thread with interest and wish you the best of luck with your mods. the supercharger sounds nuts!

but can your v6 take to the skies like mine? :D

hmm, im not sure. tbh i prefer my cav without the bump strips, although it would look good with the turbo ones on the doors. il have a think lol..

should have the cavy back on the road tomorow. quite handy having a company van, as i can drop the cav off at a garage to have work done, n not have to worry about how im gona get to work! lol.

its off down a garage this week to have the following fitted:

drilled and grooved front discs
greenstuff front pads
Eibach 35mm lowering springs
replacement pass side front drive flange
replacement top strut suspension bearings
replacement gearbox mounts
fuel filter changed

and then soon it will be back down there to have:

vectra metal rocker covers sprayed satin red
inlet manifold + throttle body chromed
new injectors fitted
ECU superchipped
cool running thermostat fitted

and then again a month later to have (probably nearer to PVS):

windows tinted
front end and rear end resprayed

im tempted to get some Roose blue hoses for the engine bay, but they are expensive. think a complete set is £190, or 3 hoses is £60-70 iirc.

shall post up some pics when its all done!

so my plans for this year for my cav are:

lowered, grooved/drilled discs, greenstuff pads
windows tinted
front end + rear end resprayed
the aircon sorted out as pumps working but the aircon itself isnt
new bonnet cable + pull fitted so my damm bonnet will pop when i want it to
engine fully rebuilt with 3.0 block
F28 gearbox, LET clutch + XE/LET lightened flywheel
drivers seat repaired

i want to try and get as much of it done as possible before PVS. hopefully, all of it will be done by then. definately everything apart from the engine rebuild and F28 fitted will be done, but im hopeing that il be able to get that done aswell by then.

oh god yes mate, im SO glad i kept her. i know that if i had gone through with selling her, i'd regret it soo much. i love my cav, best car ive owned, and i doubt il ever get rid of it. im quite happy to continue ploughing money into it to keep it going.

new cars have never interested me, ive been driving my boss's 58plate mondeo which is all singing n dancing model with electric everything and wipers + lights than come on automatically etc, but my god, im glad when i get out of it and back into my cav. mainly the build quality is poo, the turbo lag is rediculous, and the interior looks like a spaceship cockpit, but, what ive found with all the new cars ive driven, it completely lacks any character at all. where as my good old cav is full of character.

heres some more pics of my cav over the last few weeks:

(the V6 CDX number plate is something i REALLY wish was available forsale, as i'd buy it as a private plate for my cav)

my first cavalier, and my 1st car (now Mike's white 1.8 gl saloon, which is a GSI rep) next to my cavy V6 on new years day:

im REALLY looking forward to this years PVS. it has completely transformed from what it looks like at last years PVS, the day i put it on the road for the first time lol:

EBC grooved + drilled front discs + Greenstuff pads

3.0 V6 engine (roughly 210bhp as standard), which is tuned with:

gasflowed + ported + polished cylinder heads x2
gasflowed + ported + polished lower inlet manifolds x2
gasflowed + ported + polished upper inlet manifold
gasflowed + ported + polished throttle body
custom made 3 branch 3-2-1 performance Exhaust manifolds + downpipes

ive had it dropped by 35mm, and tbh, i dont wana go any lower than that because:

1) it will make it a nightmare to tow anything with 205/40/17's on the back (and front obv) if its lowered anymore
2) it only just clears the mountain that is the speed hump at my local Tesco (bottom of front bumper sometimes scrapes it)

i just can't wait to get the 3.0 init, and the F28 box.

think its gona scare me.

oh, and you'l never guess what im driving about in at the minute, while the cav's off the road again.

wait for it.......

right, i thought i better update this, before i even contemplate P/X'in my V6 again against a 56plate VW Passat again

at the present minute, she's off the road, awaiting a new engine + box, and then a paint job, ready for PVS.

the engine will be as follows:

3.0 V6 24v engine, with the following:

gasflowed + ported + polished cylinder heads x2
gasflowed + ported + polished inlet manifolds x2
gasflowed + ported + polished throttle body
custom made 3branch performance exhaust manifolds + matching performance 3-2-1 downpipes
both cylinder heads reconditioned
De-Cat pipe
EGR valve removed
ECU superchip
4 bar FPR
10mm performance HT leads + uprated plugs
cool running thermostat
Vectra V6 metal rocker covers, painted dark met red with multicoloured glitter in them
inlet manifold chrome polished
aircon pump + rad removed
brand new alternator
brand new coilpack
brand new cambelt kit
brand new waterpump
brand new oil cooler kit
brand new top end gaskets + headbolts etc
brand new uprated injectors x6
brand new hydraulic lifters
brand new auxilary belt

gearbox:

F28 electronic 6speed box
C20LET uprated clutch kit
C20LET flat type flywheel
F28 shortshift gear linkage

then the bodywork will consist of:

GSI front bumper bigmouthed, meshed with black mesh, laguna splitter, and resprayed to match car
CDX front grille meshed, and resprayed to match car
GSI rear bumper cut down to fit hatch and resprayed to match car
astra mk3 GSI bonnet vents cut and fitted to bonnet, and resprayed to match car
complete front and rear end respray (already had sides done when had arches replaced)

further work before PVS (money permitting lol):

windows tinted
EBC grooved/drilled rear discs + greenstuff pads
chrome bling for engine bay
roosemotorsport blue engine hose kit (bloody expensive for what it is)
flat blade wiper blades all round ( in post now )

god i can't wait to get her back on the road. not long now, will be back on the road beginning on June, in time for PVS!

the 3.0 is in it. and will be running on weekend, so i can get her back on the road.

just spent £2000 on the engine in total, inc labour and parts, have the 3.0 rebuilt and race tuned.

and its got every. ported + polished heads, superchipped ECU, custom made 3 branch manifolds + downpipes, uprated new injectors and FPR, plus loads of brand new bits like alternator, oil cooler kit, cambelt/waterpump, all gaskets, various sensors, coil pack, etc etc.

should hopefully be pushing atleast 250bhp when its done.

just need to get the F28 6-Speed close ratio gearbox fitted, with lightened flywheel and uprated clutch, then she'l fly fo'so
